In this hands-on and interactive workshop, we will explore how you can find good funding matches for your work, how grant applications are reviewed, how to turn your ideas into compelling grant narratives and budgets, and how writing grants can aid your artistic process.

Presenter: Ben Moorad is the co-founder of the nonprofit Write Around Portland, and he currently works as a freelance grant writer and as a professional Interim Director (as part of the Executive Transition Services team at NAO). He has successfully secured grant funding for a wide range of arts organizations from local theatres to international arts conferences. He has been awarded artist's residencies at the MacDowell Colony and Caldera Arts. He has also received four Individual Artist grants from the Regional Arts & Culture Council.
